rammed earth is made by layers of soil compacted into a formwork. here is a tool, completely original or achieving the rammed earth walls without any effort for the worker. compressed air which actuates the rammer comes from an ordinary portable compressor. this rammer is not noisy, requires little energy. it is safe for the worker. this work can be performed from outside of the formwork. this fully automatic rammer requires no special skills. running compaction perfectly constant, it allows a constant manufacture. 1) after providing the earth into the formwork, the worker places the rammer above the formwork making it move on the rail.
2) the rams are positioned to the proper height, varying with the filling. 3) the worker moves the rammer alongthe rail at a steady rate. one way and return. 4) after the completion of the compaction, the rams are lifted and the rammer handled outside the formwork. live demonstration rammer pneumatic rammer over a length of two meters, (with this quality of earth) compaction has a duration of 1 minute 15 seconds. or, for 5 beds of 10 cm high (that is to say a square meter) a total compaction duration of 6 minutes and 15 seconds. - the drop height can be chosen, so the intensity of compaction for the entire wall. varying following the earth quality, - the compaction speed can be selected.
- the width of compaction 50 cm can be easily adapted for other widths. this tool was created for prefabricationof rammed earth on site. the way of using this device on top of the wall remains to be studied. this fully automatic rammer is protected by a patent.
